About Me

Welcome! I’m Tamarin Butcher, an instructional design leader dedicated to creating engaging, accessible learning experiences (while moonlighting as a YA and fantasy author).

At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I specialize in developing innovative educational solutions that prioritize accessibility and active learning. My work includes initiatives like AccessibleU, a Canvas course designed to prepare higher education faculty for accessible course design, and seminars on teaching and learning strategies in online courses. On the side, I also create interactive modules and videos aimed at building safer digital habits and enhancing social media privacy awareness.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am passionate about writing. I always have been. Luckily, storytelling is the core of any good instructional design product. My stories often explore themes of transformation, resilience, and the boundless possibilities of imagination. If you’d like to learn more about that side of me, check out my author blog.

I invite you to explore my portfolio to learn more about my professional projects and creative works. You can also check an interactive timeline of my professional experience for the last ten years below.
