Wen working with faculty, especially those who are new to the idea of a learning management system (LMS), providing templates to get them started can go a long way. Canvas, for example, uses the concept of ‘Modules’, which might be new to some faculty. Additionally, not everyone is aware of the power of good course organization.
For the course I facilitated with colleagues on creating active learning, hybrid, large enrollment courses, we also provided a template to help the instructors get started. To begin, we provided a clear structure in the Module layout itself.

Then, on each page we provided further guidance to help each instructor shape their course.
