Canvas isn’t the only game in town. The best way for an instructional design enthusiast to keep their skills up to scratch is to experiment with other learning management systems. I’ve played with LearnPress (a plug-in for WordPress) before, but I thought I would give it another go, this time to create a course inspired by a brief just-for-fun activity I conducted with my colleagues. As I moonlight as an author, I can’t help but see the story in everything. This course has not been peer reviewed, but serves as an excellent example of how a relatively simple system can be used to create impactful courseware.
From the course description: “Storytelling is a powerful tool that influences how we learn, communicate, and connect. In this course, you’ll discover how to craft compelling narratives that capture attention, inspire action, and build meaningful relationships. Whether you’re an educator, business professional, content creator, or just looking to enhance your communication skills, this course will give you practical storytelling techniques to apply in instructional design, professional communication, and personal interactions.”
